JOHN GIWA-AMU

CEO, PRODUCER

John is the founder of Good Gate Media. His first feature film Little White Lies won two BAFTA Cymru Awards and was nominated for a BIFA. His follow-up feature, The Machine, became a sci-fi cult hit, premiering in Tribeca and winning three BAFTA Cymru Awards, including Best Picture, a BIFA and the Screen Award for UK distribution. The Silent Storm, starring Damien Lewis and Andrea Riseborough was released by Sony in 2016 and was Co-Produced with Barbara Broccoli. Additionally, John has collaborated twice with director, Sally Potter, on The Party, starring Cillian Murphy and Timothy Spall, and on The Roads Not Taken, starring Javier Bardem, Salma Hayek, Laura Linney, and Elle Fanning. John has produced another seven interactive titles including Five Dates and The Complex.

ALAN MARTIN

COO

After a successful career in finance and property, Alan co-founded Metrodome Films in the early 1990s. By 1996, the company had been floated on the AIM part of the Stock Exchange and become one of the UK's leading independent distributors. Successes include cult hit Donnie Darko which sold over 2M copies on DVD, acquisition of the Sony-Sunbow kids’ catalogue including My Little Pony and Conan the Barbarian, and a JV with Warner Bros focused on classic titles such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Searchers. In 2003, Alan left Metrodome and worked with Gold Circle Films on hits White Noise, The Wedding Date and Haunting in Connecticut (WBO $215M). Latterly, he was an investment advisor on Rocketman and Men in Black International (WBO $450M). In his career, Alan has worked with leading companies like Sky, the BBC, Film 4, Miramax, Columbia Tri-Star and Lionsgate.

SARAH BARKER

HEAD OF PRODUCTION

Sarah joined Good Gate Media at the very beginning in 2018 to head up production on their first interactive, The Complex. She has since overseen each in-house project, and has run development initiatives with UK Games Fund and XR Stories across the Good Gate development slate.

ALEX LIGHTMAN

HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT

Alex is a writer and director with over 10 year’s experience in the Film and Television industry. His debut feature film Tear Me Apart played at multiple festivals around the world before being released on Amazon Prime in 2016. Following developing his script Petal as an interactive and his work as director on Night Book with Good Gate Media, Alex became our head of development in 2020 to lend his storytelling expertise to the slate.
